Have you ever had to give up something you love? People who lived during the Great Depression had to give up lots of things that they loved or cherished. The effects were mainly unemployment, poverty, and also bad economy. These are just some of the effects that the Great Depression had on people.
The unemployment was severe, that one family’s dad had to make up his own jobs. he had never had a real job. He had to always make up a job, that paid hardly anything. He would paint a whole house for only $5. He had many small jobs, he would rent a horse and then use it to break up gardens, he would pick peaches and raised potato slips.
The poverty is when the same family’s mom had to stretch every dollar as far as it would go. The whole family
