World War I was the fire that engulfed the forest leading to World War II. The effects of World War I while fought for a different reason led to and was most likely the leading cause that led World War II to occur thus making it a continuation. The things that occurred that led to World War II were things such as the rise of the Nazi Party due to debt acquired during World War I and the heightened tensions that were formed during it still persisted.
