Friend or Foe Over a decade people have been trying to find alternatives to help the mankind whether for industrial or daily purposes, especially in the past thirty years when technologies made a huge breakthrough. Without noticing, we are witnessing the future unveiling before our eyes. One of those breakthroughs is the evolution of a book. It all started in 1938, Robert Fair de Graff of Penguin Books had a dream of making better version of books. He created pocket books so it would be cheap enough to be bought by Americans because that time, it was hard to find a good book with affordable price and reachable place. Traditional books are those printed books. Electronic books or commonly known as e-books are books in digital form that are readable by any electronic devices. Reading from e-book enable the users to adjust the device depending with their needs, be it dimming the brightness in the dark, or brightening it in bright places. The size of the text is adjustable; if the text is too small to be read, it can be enlarged. These features benefit the readers’ eyes, readers can read the text conveniently without getting their eyes tired or hurt. No Wi-Fi required to access the file once it has been saved to the device. It is not heavy to be brought anywhere too. For instance, if we use the printed dictionary, it weighs us more to bring it. If all of our textbooks are all in pdf, we do not need to bring huge bags to school. No more huge, heavy bags and no more sore backbones for students.
