The powerful sun god Ra
Ra is definitely worth remembering. He is considered to be the most important god of Egypt. He has accomplished many things but has also released some evil, like the eye of Ra.
The Eye of Ra was thought to be a goddess. She was summoned by Ra to do his bidding or she would rather break free of Ra’s control to wreak havoc. Either way, the eye of Ra always brings some form of transformation.
The Eye of Ra was called Hathor. Hathor kills thousands of people before Ra realizes what he has unleashed and starts begging her to stop. Hathor has gone psycho from killing so many people, she is now known as Sekhmet and can no longer hear Ra. After seeing this, Ra orders 7,000 jugs of beer to be dyed red. Sekhmet thought the beer was blood so she drank it. She passes out and wakes up as Hathor. From then on she makes a vow to be …show more content…

Ra is unhappy about this so he asks for other god's advice, they say to smite the humans for their ingratitude. As you can see the eye of Ra is not actually Ra’s eye And creating Sekhmet is only partially his fault
In other stories Ra is tired of ruling over humans, he asks the goddess Nut to carry him to the heavens. Nut becomes a celestial cow and takes Ra to the heavens on her back. On Ra's way up he creates the field of reeds. (The field of reeds is a paradise similar to Egypt where dead Egyptians would live.) Ra left the world to other gods and only drives his barge across the sky.
Ra created the laws which were later given to humanity by Osiris and isis in the golden age of their reign. Ra’s worship was so great that some people think he was the only Egyptian god. Some people say that Ra’s tears and sweat created the human race. Because of this, the Egyptians call themselves the Cattle of Ra.
