he Scarlet Pimpernel is a mystery novel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy that teaches the consequences of having too much pride as well as the fact that people wear masks to cover up who they really are. The author took human nature into account when writing this book because she made the characters realistic in the way that they have flaws. One of these common flaws that the characters shared was the fact that they all wore masks. Percy is the main character in this novel and when you read about him, you get the impression that he's pretty stupid.
The Jewish Star and the Dirty Needle There are many ways to compare the literary works, GO ASK ALICE by anonymous and NIGHT by Elie Wiesel. Both works have similar aspects to them. Both main characters have a relationship with their parents, the main characters are in the works with having a relationship with God and finally, both of the protagonists have recurring images of death and dying. In GO ASK ALICE and NIGHT, the main characters have to deal with similar aspects.

This story is about a young self driven independent college graduate who gave all his money to charity, gave his car away and hitch-hiked his all of over the United States seeking for adventure and his Dream. Chris McCandless abandoned everything he had and left without telling anyone. After two years of his journey, Chris McCandless was found dead in a bus located in Alaska. He had eaten potato seeds which was a big factor on how he died.
“The Zookeeper’s Wife” by Diane Ackerman reveals the true story of Jan and Antonia Żabiński, two authentic zookeeper’s who risked their lives by being a part of an underground resistance towards Hitler. When all the animals were taken away from the zoo, Jan and Antonia used their free space to hide refugees until safe passage to a new home was discovered. Throughout the book Ackerman relates many experiences to freedom and confinement. Some people believe that animals should not be kept in zoos. Others believe that as long as animals feel like they are in their natural habitat that being in a zoo is acceptable.

He has written books such as Hugo Cabaret which won him the Caldecott medal. Wonderstruck is an equally good book if not better with two main characters Ben, and Rose. He does an amazing thing with this book by making two different stories at different times with 50 years apart
The story of The Glass Castle takes you on a journey through childhood from the point of Jeanette Wells. Jeanette lived through a lot of incidents that can be tied into social psychology and how people react to the situations they are put into. While we may not relate to her life of moving and extreme poverty, we can boil down her life situations into concepts that everyone can relate to and has been through. The Glass Castle starts with Jeannette as an adult witnessing her mother rooting through a dumpster in New York City.

Chris McCandless loves the outdoors so much he leaves his family and most of his possessions behind and began his journey to Alaska. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a story about Chris McCandless and his conflicts with his family, society and nature.

Chris McCandless, a twenty-one year old from Virginia, the son of Walt, his father, and Billie, his mother, spent his life trying to live life freely, not bound to materialistic objects. He travels to Alaska in hopes of finding purpose and meaning behind life, but unfortunately dies a few months into his excursion due to reasons unknown. His experiences on his journey are illustrated in the book, Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer.

Throughout Friday Night Lights and “The Problem We All Live With”, the authors utilize personal connection to create a pathetic appeal in order to address the growing racial tension spewing in particular communities. In doing so, they are able to strengthen their arguments by emotionally appealing to their audience. This is clearly shown as H.G. Bissinger, in Friday Night Lights, portrays the socially accepted mindset of coaches, who are regarded as role models, towards their own African American players. Bissinger appeals to the emotions when he purposely adds a quote from a coach referring to Boobie as “a big ol’ dumb n*****”, emphasizing the point that the Permian football society believes that African Americans are nothing without football
