Both abortion and sex education in schools are controversial topics that most people try to avoid when given the chance. There are many people that debate whether abortion is good or bad and whether sex education should be allowed in school. These topics both have a common ground and that is children. Serrin M. Foster wrote an article called “The Feminist Case Against Abortion” about abortion and how it affects feminists. The article explains when someone should be allowed to call themselves feminists (Foster). Alexandra Sifferlin wrote the article “Why Schools Can’t Teach Sex Ed” which was about how sex education affects students and how the parents react to it (Sifferlin). This biased point of view is shown whenever Foster spoke about women who support abortion. Foster declares that, “Women deserve better,” whenever she is speaking about women who support abortions (Foster). Foster also repeats herself throughout the article. When explaining a topic, Foster would either voice, her opinion about how “abortion has masked… the problems women face,” (Foster) or she would announce how her organization goes to great lengths to change the ideas of women who feel they cannot have a child (Foster). The way that the paper is arranged is nicely organized. Everything in the article is coordinated with a main point and is placed into their own main point. Some of the main points Foster uses are “The Betrayal of Modern Women” which is where she goes to talk about how women in this time “lack… support for pregnant women and parents….” because they “submit to… injustices by destroying their pregnancies.” which is basically what the title explains (Foster). There is also “Hard Cases, Exceptional Choices” where Foster goes to write about how there is a need to “help women who have conceived during rape and welcome children conceived in violence (Foster)”. The main points also are placed in a nice order so that the main points transition into each other effectively. For instance, “the betrayal of modern women” to The statistics that are used in the article are listed in a paragraph before they are each explained fully in their own following paragraph. Despite this, not all of the facts and statistics seem to match up to what Foster writes. For example Foster lists some percentage facts from “Planned Parenthood… the largest provider of abortions in the United States” and goes into a paragraph about how said facts prove that “shame and fear” is what leads to most abortions (Foster). However foster states in “The Feminist Case Against Abortion” that “61 percent are already mothers”, but in the paragraph
