To start with, the movie "The Bridget Jones's Diary" presents a blond, young woman in her early thirties, wrestling with her overweight and the problem of smoking. She works at a book publishing company in London. That girl tends to commit lots of gaffes, like everybody, she is not perfect, because she is every woman with her own disadvantages. Therefore, she is very amazing and real and it is the reason why many women identify themselves with Bridget. Secondly, she seems to be very unfortunate, she neither has luck in love nor in job. Bridget has a real gift for getting into trouble. When her parents organise an encounter on the occasion of New Year, she meets her childhood friend, Mark Darcy again. After this reunion, Mark finds Bridget stupid and boorish, and Bridget thinks that Mark is arrogant and presumptuous person who dresses awful. Bridget becomes an icon for us, because she shows in the amusing way the all obcstacles with which every single female has to cope with. Due to above examples, Bridget is said to be the best- independent, non-feminist role model for contemporary women. She depicts females as free creatures who should have choices and should derive a pleasure from life, going to parties or meeting with friends. Women are not allowed to give up, they must fight for their lives and happiness. Despite many misfortunes they desire to feel attractive and beautiful like Mrs. Jones. Bridget has never been a type of person who is a big-headed bookworm, however she astound with ordinariness, a will to find a suitable man and helplessness and her cheerful attitude to life.
