In traditional storytelling, the archetypal dark forests symbolize trouble and certain danger. In The Hobbit, Bilbo and the twelve dwarves go into the dreary forest of Mirkwood. Mirkwood, being a dreaded place before they even arrived, gave the readers a bad feeling. Furthermore, the glowing eyes, and later the treacherous spiders gave the readers an atrocious reaction. In all the novels of Harry Potter, Harry and his peers venture into the Forbidden Forest: another dark, dreaded place. In Harry Potter: The Sorcerer's’ Stone, Harry gets lost off the path in the woods. He then meets professor Quirrell, helping the dreaded enemy Voldemort get back into full health. Later, in Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows, Harry goes back out to the forest
