World war I, also known as The Great War, lasted about four years from 1914-1918. There were many factors that caused the war along with a spark , which was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. WWI was the first war and was a result of the economic and political tensions and ambitions of the Great Powers of Europe at the beginning of 20th century. The outbreak of the World War I happened because of four causes. Militarism created an armsrace, alliances were deals made with other countries to help fight and defend each other in war. Imperialism led to competition for colonies and economic power, and nationalism,was extreme pride and devotion of one’s own nation.

Militarism was one of the reason for the start of WWI.
