Mockingbirds are very interesting birds. Some people view Mockingbirds as only a bird of peace, but in reality Mockingbirds can be very protective also. Mockingbirds have many interesting characteristics, unique vocalizations and interesting ways of how they interact with humans. Mockingbirds have very interesting characteristics. One interesting characteristic of a Mockingbird is that they prefer certain habitats. Mockingbirds like to live in or survive in urban environments (“Mockingbirds Avian”). Mockingbirds prefer to live in places that are surrounded by berries and hedges (“Mockingbirds No Bird Brains”). Mockingbirds tend to eat mainly insects in the summer (“Mockingbirds No Bird Brains”). Mockingbirds switch to eating mainly fruit and berries in the winter and fall time (Freedman). Mockingbirds forage beetles, ants, wasps, and other small bugs on the ground for food. (“All About Birds”).
One final characteristic of a Mockingbird is the unique nesting habits. Mockingbirds usually nest in small shrubs or sometimes very small trees (“All About Birds”). Nest of the mockingbirds are usually foraged of fur, grass, twigs, and other outside materials. (“All About Birds”). When a person bothers with a mockingbird's nest they remember the person because they are trying to protect the nest (Janssen, Tessen, and Kennedy). Mockingbirds have very unique interesting characteristics but also have very unique vocalization skills.
