The Girl with All the Gifts Character Analysis

After reading the girl with All the Gifts, I realized that each character was significant in their own way. They all were very caring and determined but all for different things. Due to their circumstances with the hungries surviving was really every man for themselves even when they were together. The only two that stuck together, without any doubt or disagreements, were Miss Justineau and Melanie. I love their relationship they are both very selfless and care about each other dearly. Even with her being one of the hungries she had such a big heart for humans that eating them was just not something she could do. Melanie’s goal was to protect them and the only one that didn’t see her as any threat was Miss Justineau. There was times where Melanie was hungry and chose to step away from them find something to eat when she could have just ate them. Considering they are what her body craves. Melanie is an very selfless & intelligent hungry child. She is very strong and fearless. Imagine being a child that understands that everybody outside is trying to eat humans. To still get up and go outside knowing that, even if you are one of them, is scary. The average child would not step outside at the sight of hungries. The average adult wouldn’t even step outside at the sight of hungries. Melanie was different she had no fear and she understood her strengths & weaknesses. With her great understanding she was a very powerful
