A lot of people have dreams in this world. But In the book The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams, all of the characters in the book have dreams. But one character in particular really works to achieve his dream, that character is Jim. Jim tells about his dream to Laura in Scene 7, telling her that he wants to be in the future of TV. He says this when Laura first meets Jim, “I believe in the future of television!”.

Purposes of dreams are different for each person you ask, personally I call dreams a land marker of something you like to do. For example, like playing an instrument in your favorite band, or getting an A on the test that you studied a lot for. Someones dream can be whatever they really want it to be. It could be as simple as working the night shift at Taco Bell, to being a cowboy in space. It really could be as unrealistic as you want it to be.
