The Golden Goblet, written by Eloise Jarvis Mcgraw tells the story of a child in Ancient Egypt. This story is an adventure of a young man named Ranofer in Ancient Egypt. When Ranofer found the Golden Goblet he knew many things would change for him in a good way, he now has enough evidence to turn in Gebu, he will not have to be under the horrible care of Gebu, and lastly he now knows Gebu is in fact a thief. In the book The Golden Goblet there are many good reasons for Ranofers opinion on Gebu. An example of the evidence that will make sure Ranofer is confident in this decision he had made at the time. “Had that Accursed one stolen from the palace itself?” Ranofer had asked this question to himself when he had found a golden goblet in Gebu’s clothes chest. He would like to find the answer to this question so this means is going to continue to watch Gebu’s moves and actions. “I must run away he thought, Gebu will kill me I must go quickly.” Once Ranofer had put the golden goblet away carefully in Gebus clothes chest he then turned around to see himself in more trouble. Since Gebu is up to something he puts clay in front of his door if anyone opens the door the clay shall crack just to make sure he knows if someone has broken in he puts the indent of his ring which no one can fix. Ranofer had just found that he had cracked the clay when he had opened the door to come into his room. He was in fact able to fix it, but not very well he took the crumbs of clay softened it up with his spit and put it in the spots with the most desperate.
