Basic Setting: The setting took place during 1930’s at American South, Wiley College Texas. During this time period Jim Crow law as well as lynch mobs was very common against the black.

The dialogue is an aspect of filmmaking in the Great Debater. There are many inspirable and famous dialogue used through the film. In fact dialogue is what made the debaters to win all the debate fought by them.
