After reading the letter it’s obvious that it was written during the great depression, in which she was in depressed needs. In the letter she indicates how she sent some of her personal items in exchange for the items she need. In addition, she explains that she is a stay at home mother and don’t have enough money for the kids she already has. By analyzing this I’m suspecting that they live in poverty with no education since she doesn’t have a job or enough money.
