This reading started out with Gatsby, Tom, Daisy, Jordan, and Nick having lunch at the Buchanan’s home. The atmosphere of lunch was tense because Tom could tell there was something between Gatsby. Because of this, Daisy suggested they all go to town. On their way there Gatsby and Daisy rode separately from everyone else in Tom’s car. They got to the hotel and tempers blew up from there. It was hot in the room and all of them had been drinking. After little conversation, Gatsby ended up yelling at Tom saying that Daisy never loved him. Tom wouldn’t have that. He insisted that Gatsby was wrong and that Daisy did love him. This ended with all of them storming out of the hotel and going separate ways. As this incident blew up Mr. Wilson was searching for the man who owned the yellow car. Gatsby was speaking to Nick Carraway later on about the incident and confessed that Daisy was the one actually driving the car, but Gatsby was obviously going to take the blame for her. As the search for the person with the yellow car carried on, Gatsby tried to lay low and Daisy and Tom left for Chicago. A few days later, Wilson somehow figured out that it was Gatsby’s car. He came to his house, while Gatsby was relaxing by his pool, and shot him dead right on the spot. After Gatsby’s death, Nick continuously searched for people that Gatsby was friends with to come to his funeral. He come up with hardly any at all.
