In the movie The Great Gatsby in 1974 and 2013 there was many differences where the directors from both was trying to convey the meaning of the story in different ways. The one that was shown in 1974 was directed by Jack Clayton whereas for the new one in 2013 it was directed by Baz Luhrmann. They both convey the same meaning but the one directed by Jack Clayton went through the movie in a little quicker manner where it forgot the same details, but the one directed by Baz Luhrmann went slower with each scenes which allow us to see it in full detail. The Great Gatsby from 1974 convey the meaning of the book in a faster manner plus changed some part of the book in the movie where it was a little hard to understand when you have already read the book. The director made each scenes very fast that would make it harder for the watchers to understand if they already read the book due to the fact the meaning is spread out through the book where it was also be for the movie. This mean that with the rush scenes the meaning can’t be convey as easy as going slow because it take time to get each scenes right for the watchers to understand why Gatsby is going through all of it to get Daisy. The meaning of it is that the American Dream is something that can’t be achieve with what you believe due to the fact it would cause you to do things that you don’t like and regret later on. It is also something that reality won’t let you have due to the fact that there are people out there that won’t allow you to have where they would do anything to stop you from getting it.
