In the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is the second main character is a wealthy man name Jay Gatsby. Gatsby is a man that is deprived in wealth, appearances and a great reputation for having immense parties. Alongside with him is Nick Carraway the main character who sees Gatsby whole life. Nick lives in this small house that is right next to Gatsby mammoth mansion. One night Gatsby is having this vast party and Nick is deciding to walk around his enormous house with this woman. As they are walking they past by a library that is inside of Jay Gatsby mansion, they see a wise man looking into each book, noticing odd about all of Gatsby books. The wise man says to Nick that these books are not cut out, Gatsby is a liar. Nick was slowly learning the truth about Jay Gatsby, he learned that Gatsby doesn't actually read, the library is only there to fool everybody. The books are there just like decorations and collecting dust. The main reason he is doing something like this is to impress his lover also called Daisy. The girl who lives across the bay from him, he throws all these big parties, and have all these things to impress daisy his life long love. In this medium sized library are books that go across the room, that have not been read or not even touched. Gatsby is a person that likes to aggrandize to his guest, people and the ones who loves. Most of those books in the room are not cut, meaning he has not read them. Gatsby is fake, a perjurer and a showboat. Gatsby want people or his guest to think that he is very intelligent. I chose this symbol because it means you should not always judge a book by it’s cover and the message for this is people thought he was very wise. That is why I chose to do my cover book on Jay Gatsby
