Gatsby suddenly stops throwing parties, which he only did that to lure in daisy. He also fires all his servants to prevent gossip and replaces them with weird people connected to Meyer Wolfshiem. On the hottest day of the summer Nick goes to east egg to have lunch with Jordan and the Buchanan's. Gatsby is there as well. When the nurse brings in Pamela, Daisy's child, Gatsby is stunned and can barely believe the child is real. During the afternoon Gatsby and Daisy can't hide their love for one another. Daisy, feeling bored asks Gatsby if he wants to go to town, Gatsby stares at her with dreamy eyes and now Tom knows what's been going on. Tom decides that everyone should go to New York. Nick rides with Jordan and Tom in Gatsby's car , and Gatsby and Daisy ride in toms car. …show more content…

But George doesn't know who it is. George plans to move to the west taking myrtle with him. In the New York City heat, everyone stays at the plaza hotel, Tom confronts Gatsby by making fun of of the phrase he uses "old sport." He accuses Gatsby of lying about attending Oxford. Gatsby claims that he only went to Oxford for five months, in an army program following the war. Tom asks Gatsby about Daisy. Gatsby replies that Daisy loves him not Tom. Tom claims that he and Daisy have had too many memories together more than Gatsby can understand. He then accuses Gatsby of running a bootleg operation. Realizing that Tom has bested Gatsby, Tom sends Daisy back to Long Island with Gatsby. Nick then realizes it's his thirtieth birthday. Driving back to Long Island, nick, Jordan and Tom drive up to George's garage. And find out that the dead person that was hit by a car was myrtle, toms lover. Michaelis told them that she was hit by a car coming from New York City. Nick realizes that the murderer must be Gatsby and Daisy. Back at Tom's house, nick finds Gatsby waiting
