Family is a person that’s always there for you, it doesn’t necessarily have to be your blood. Family is the people that’s loyal to you, the people that won’t turn their back on you when you need it most. Which gets me to the books Of Mice And Men, The Great Gatsby and the article “The Baby Boom For Gay Parent’s”. In OMAM the relationship between Lennie and George was strong. They considered each other family even though they weren’t blood. They also both depended on each other a lot. In TGG Nick and Gatsby had a strong relationship too, Nick looked really admired Gatsby and Gatsby showed some affection towards Nick as well even though he was really using him to get to his cousin. Nick really looked up to Gatsby because Gatsby had everything in life a nice house, a nice car and a lot of money. Gatsby kind of used Nick to get to his cousin Daisy because Gatsby was really in love with her. Gatsby literally based his life on getting Daisy back. Gatsby used to be poor and he thought Daisy didn’t like him because of that so he became rich to get her back and wounds up dying for her. The first time they met at one of Gatsby parties Gatsby greets Nick with a warm smile full of understanding.
