The Great Gatsby
Summary
The Great Gatsby premiered the 1th May, 2013. The movie takes place in New York in 1929. Bond seller, Nick Carraways takes therapy for alcoholism and depression. The therapist tells him to write down why he ended up like this because Nick can’t put words on it.
Mr. Carraways journal describes what happened in his life seven years ago. Nick rented a house on Long Islands, East Egg. His neighbores were all welthy people, most newly rich. Nick didn’t fit in there, himself not being rich. However he had family connections living there, including his cousine Daisy.
Nick’s mysterouse neighbore is Mr. Jay Gatsby. Gatsby lived in an gigantic mansion, where he held big party’s every Saturday night.
One evening Mr. Carraways drove over to his cousine Daisy and her husband Tom for dinner. Here he met a beautiful girl named Jordan Baker, a very talented golfer, and also Daisy’s best friend. He also learned that Tom had an affair with Myrtle Wilson. Not long after this dinner, Mr. Carraways travelled to New York City with Tom and Myrtle.

His souspisions became truth, after he, Daisy, Gatsby and Nick have a lunch together and Tom sees the loving look’s Daisy gets from Gatbsy. Even tough Tom himself has an affair with another woman, he grows very angry at the tought of his wife cheating on him. He forces the groop to New York, where he confronts Gatsby. Tom also reveals that Gatsby is a criminal, that all of his wealth comes from illegal alcohol and other forbidden activities. Daisy sees them both as they really are, Gatsby as a midwest boy searching for a better life, and Tom a selfish cheater. It ends with Daisy driving with Gatsby back to East Egg. However, on their way home they get in an accident that kills Myrtle, Toms lover. They rush home, where Daisy locks herself in her bedroom and refuses to come
