Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald nis a novel about tragedy. Gatsby and other characters make decisions that ultimately lead to his death. I enjoy reading the Great Gatsby as well. Fitzgerald has a way of keeping my attention in the same way that Hemingway does. The novel is filled with emotion, symbolism, and unexpected twists and turns. I agree that Fitzgerald, "was able to say so much, while actually saying very little." The novel was never assigned or studied in any of my English classes and so, out of sheer curiosity because I knew it was considered a literary masterpiece, I decided to read it for my own pleasure. The only information I had about Gatsby was that it was set during the 1920s and that it was an American classic.
