Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, or more commonly known as F Scott Fitzgerald, is the author of many short stories, as well as four finished books, during his short lived life. Born in 1896, Fitzgerald first started to gain fame from the release of his first novel titled This Side of Paradise. Only a week after the original release of his first novel did Fitzgerald marry his lover, Zelda Sayre, on April 3, 1920. Fitzgerald commonly used her likeness in all of the novels that he has released. The couple first met during Fitzgerald’s time in the military, and in 1921, Zelda gave birth to their daughter named Frances “Scottie” Fitzgerald.

One of his most notable short stories comes in the form of a story titled The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a story about a man who is born very old and ages in reverse. The production of these short stories provided financial stability for Fitzgerald up until his death.
Three years after his most recent novel, Fitzgerald released his work titled The Great Gatsby. The release of this novel officially marked Fitzgerald as one of the greatest authors of his time as he portrayed the Jazz Age and the American Dream beautifully with the narration by Nick Carraway, the novel’s main protagonist alongside Jay Gatsby. This is learned when Nick states “I believe that on the first night I went to Gatsby’s house I was one of the few guests who had actually been invited. People were not invited - they went there”(Fitzgerald 41). At the party, Nick has another encounter with Jordan Baker, and then eventually gets to meet the man himself, Jay Gatsby. Nick notices that Gatsby is not very involved with his guests, more just likes the atmosphere of the party, and continuously observes all the guests who come
