I did not enjoy this book as much as the other. I thought that this book was kind of slow sometimes which made it hard for me to get into and enjoy. It was not slow the whole time, but when it was I did not enjoy reading it as much. That is just my opinion. Jay Gatsby did the wrong things for the right reasons. Gatsby was in love with Daisy therefore he did things that he thought would make him good enough for her. Through his love it made him do things that were illegal. He had the right intentions through the things he did in his life though. You don’t need to change yourself for anyone. Money can’t buy love therefore just be yourself. I thought that Nick Carraway was a conflicted character at some points. In life a lot of people are conflicted through different things. Nick could have been a character that some people could relate to in one way or another. I like the author’s choice on having Nick as the narrator. …show more content…

There were ups and downs for all the characters. I enjoyed the change in emotions and I felt like it was easier to connect with the characters. When Daisy and Gatsby reunited in chapter four it was relatable for me with my friendships. I had a text to self connection with this part of the book. It was awkward for the two at first and then they got more comfortable. I have a lot of friends from basketball and other sporting events. I don’t see those friends very often because we go to different schools and have our own busy lives. Whenever we do see each other it is a little awkward at first because it has been so long, but we get more comfortable as the minutes go
