Allysa Burton Teuscher English 11 4/4/17 The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby is a story told by a man named Nick Carraway. He was once Gatsby’s neighbor. The story is told sometime after 1922. The story started when Nicked moved to West Egg, Long Island from the Midwest. He moved because he was seeking his fortune as a bond salesman. After shortly arriving in West Egg Nick travels to the more fashionable East Egg where is went to visit his cousin Daisy Buchanan and her husband Tom. While he is visiting his cousin he meets Jordan Baker who is a professional golfer. Nick had a more modest and grounded lifestyle compared to Jordan Baker and The Buchanan’s luxurious lifestyle. Nick learned that Gatsby appears to be in love with Nick’s cousin Daisy Buchanan. Daisy and Gatsby met earlier on but at the time Gatsby was in the army and could not support Daisy. Gatsby had a goal of winning Daisy back throughout the years of making his fortunes. Gatsby bought a house across the bay from Daisy house and held the most amazing parties hoping she would notice. Gatsby wants to meet with Daisy face-to-face once again. Gatsby has thought of an idea to have Nick invite Daisy over to his house and Gatsby coincidently shows up at Nick’s house while Daisy is there. On the day of Daisy’s arrival Gatsby has bought endless flowers to place all over Nick’s property, every details has to be perfected by Gatsby. At first when Gatsby sees Daisy for the first time in forever they both grew nervous but over time they become comfortable with each other. After a while the three wander over to Gatsby’s, where he shows the wonderful house to Daisy. Days went on, Daisy and Tom attended one of Gatsby’s parties.
