Many people who have read The Great Gatsby have very different opinions on Gatsby. Some people believe that this man was a goddess but others thought very badly on him. In my opinion I think Gatsby did what had to be done to live his life so I do believe that Gatsby is better than “the whole damn bunch put together.” Gatsby has made his name known to the many people and a lot of people didnt like that. Gatsby has worked hard for what he has and what he wants. Nick’s assertion that Gatsby is worth more than “the whole damn bunch put together” is supported by Gatsby’s purer motives and actions. Gatsby is better than Tom. One reason this is because Gatsby came from being dirt poor to being a huge millionaire. Tom on the other hand didnt have to work or build to what he has because he came from a rich family and the fortune was just passed down to him. Tom is a very rasist guy that doesnt get a long with everybody. Gatsby on the other hand get along with most people and is a very kind and caring person. Tom is all about status and fame and wanting people to pay attention to him. Daisy is a very nieve person and indesisive on what she wants. Gatsby had waitied for Daisy and only wanted Daisy. Daisy didnt want to wait for Gatsby even though she is very inlove with him. Gatsby built up his money for a girl that didnt even contact him. Daisy didnt want to wait around and build with him she wanted everything then and there. Gatsby still sticks with Daisy even after the fact of her being indessive on choosing him or Tom.
