In The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells I was surprised how there were creatures from Mars watching over Earth. I mean I would be terrified too and run away. I was also shocked at the people who were getting shelter to be safe in a hot humid place and they didn’t even care whether the weather was hot or cold. There was also some smart people who I thought they were thinking about was not such great ideas, but at the same time, I thought they had the right idea. The fact that the people did not know this is really sad because they must have been really surprised when they knew about the Martians. “Three people running down a side…” (pg. 139). This is very smart of them to run to safety and I like how the people really just wanted safety but didn’t care about the weather. I like how the people think of taking care of themselves and other than how humid or cold the weather is. And they were just doing this so they can survive and maybe with others they love and care about. “Breakfast in hand, running wild and shining to catch their little season-ticket train…” (pg. 185). Well, I am not calling the people who wanted to ride the train to be safe stupid, but they did not realize that the Martians are going to destroy this whole world and not just the area where the people lived that wanted to run away. So even though you are in a safe place on earth you will still die after all. Anywhere you go you are still going to die no matter what. Some people knew that it was no good or good idea to run away from the Martians because they knew they will be caught anyway and I felt very proud and shocked of those people who knew this.
