“Give me liberty or give me death!” That is a quote that John Locke said and was the beginning of a huge revolution chain. Around the 1800s people started to become enlightened, or smart, and realized all of the unfair things that were happening to them and decided to revolt in many different ways, times and unexpected ways. There were different systems and revolutions all around the americas. For example, the Haitian revolution, the Bolivian revolution, and the mercantile system. So, the first revolution in Latin America was the Haitian revolution.

This way was going on a very unexpected route for a long time to reach the upper classes. This was for a tactical advantage the Simon Bolivar thought of and it worked. This was going through the hot jungle to reach the impassable Andes. The Spanish used to control Bolivia and other countries around it that Simon Bolivar freed. Bolivia was so happy that they named their country after him. Those are some of the Latin American revolutions.

Finally the Mercantile system was an unfair system that caused and fueled many revolts. The Mercantile system was where a colony would sell its goods to the mother country then buy them back for a higher price as processed goods. For example, you would sell a piece of wood for 10 dollars and then buy it back as a chair for 20 dollars. This was very unfair and made slaves mad. Because they were mad, they revolted and lowered profits. That is what Mercantilism was.
