An unappreciated and overworked housewife and mother takes the day off and ventures to New York while being pursued by a relentless PTA chairman.
BRIEF SYNOPSIS
SYD (38) is a stay-at-home mom and housewife. Her husband JOEL (40) and her two kids, JACK (7) and REMY (5) tend to take her for granted.
Being new to the neighborhood, Syd tries to fit in, but doesn’t get along with their snobby neighbors, BARB and RICH. Joel is under pressure to submit a bid to Rich for a contract and wants to make a good impression.
The Halloween carnival is the next day, and Barb is President of the PTA. When Syd doesn’t have her exhibit ready for the carnival, Barb puts pressure on her to get it done.

Without a car, she talks Charlie into driving her in Rich’s Tesla.
They meet with Lucy, who tells them she’s waiting for some test results. They agree to wait with her. Barb wonders where Syd and Charlie are and suspects they are together.
Syd feels free. The trio goes on an adventure. They run into an artist, VAUGHN, and his hipster friends. They are invited to his opening party, they have a makeover, and Syd arranges a blind date for Lucy. Eventually, Lucy reveals that she’s pregnant, but waiting to see if the baby is okay. They decide to break into the doctor’s office to find the results. They are caught, but released.
Barb and Rich realize the missing car is in New York. Barb decides to track it down. She’s convinced that Syd and Charlie are having an affair. Syd tells Joel she’s in city, but will be home later. Joel is forced to take care of the kids and run the home.
When Syd and Lucy have a fight, Syd storms off. She decides to go to Vaughn’s opening. Lucy finds out that she’s having a healthy baby girl. She and Charlie find Syd at the opening and make up. Syd talks Vaughn into helping build a haunted house for the
