A very long time ago in a far away land. Well it depends where you live. Ok so on with the story. This place is called York England, but the medieval one, lived a King and Queen named Sir Robin and Lady Alys. Alys and Robin had an enchanted wedding with white rose petals covering the ground with over 5 towns attended. Who all write wishes for their marriage and tied them on lanterns and had the lanterns light up the sky. But there was one evil wish for their marriage written by the evil, mean, rude, disrespectful who was The Fairy of the Dark. The wish was for them not to have any children. That's because she knows that there life wouldn't be complete without there own small family that Alys has dreamed of ever since she was just a small girl. …show more content…

Yet they are losing hope in ever having a children's. Alys has put together two baby rooms a boy and a girl room. She has also woven ten girl pjs and ten boy pjs, fifteen dresses for a girl, and fifteen pairs of pants and shirts for the boy, she has done this to keep her mind off of enable to have any children. But she has finished all of that so there was nothing else to keep her mind off of that so she doesn't become depressed again. She ordered the people of the palace to think of some ways to keep her mind off of the children. So the people thought, and thought, and thought they finally thought of a list of ways. The butler named Borin called down the royals for a surprise. The surprise was a joke, but not just any joker, the best out of the whole York. They didn't look so surprised though. They just sat in there throws just will to give this a shot. “Hopefully this works” Borin said under his breath. “Me too” said the joker who just huerd Borin slightly. While he was doing his act the King and the Queen were just sitting there like they were in modern day history class bored out of their minds. “Wait a minute” thought Borin.”Alys is giggling”. The story takes place in a Republic of Gilead, a futuristic United States, in which a Christian theocracy has overthrown the old government and are now forcing everyone to live by their beliefs, word by word. Offred, a young woman who is assigned with the duty of being a handmaid, a person who bears children for their assigned couple, lives with her commander and his wife, Serena, in his mansion. The commander is an elderly man who has a high position in the government and he once a month has to have sexual intercourse with Offred due to the declining birth rates in the Republic of Gilead. Serena is the assigned wife of the commander, although she can’t bear children herself due to her age, she waits for Offred to hopefully become pregnant in order to finally have the child that she has always desired to have.
