My book is called The Help: A Novel By: Kathryn Stockett. The Help was published by; the Penguin Group (USA) Inc. There are 523 pages total including acknowledgments, a readers guide, and a page that list information about the author. Also pages including the title page, the copy rights information page, the dedication page and the contents page. The plot of the book is how it is between the lives of being a black woman as a maid in the state The state of Mississippi and the lives of the white women who hire them. The problem all starts with Ms.Hilly trying to get Mrs. Leefort to by an outside bathroom for the help ( Aibileen ). And Ms.Hilly Wants to have every household to have one. MInny hadn’t even used the Bathroom she was about to until Ms.Hilly interrupted her. But as a way of being spiteful she flushed The toilet making it seam like she did, she was later fired after that even thought she had permission. Ms. Hilly believes that African Americans carry diease. This is a strong belief she has and fro the reason For the separate bathrooms for the help. The book then focus around what Minny did to get back at Ms.Hilly. Minny decided to make her a pie. Ms. Hilly had to slices of it. Without know what was in it. Minny had said it was a chocolate pie. In a disagreement Minny said ‘’ Eat my shit ‘’ and she looked Down at the pie. Minny had make a pie with her poop baked inside of it as revenge. Ms. Hilly had told Everyone that Minny had stolen her silver to get revenge that way no one would hire her. Skeeter had Made a book called The Help talking about the life of a maid. Minny had told her story about what she Did. Ms. Hilly likes to take control of the situation and have everything her way. As she is friends with Mrs. Leefort A house wife that follows Ms. Hilly around like a little puppy that pays no mind to her little girl Mae Mobley. That leaves Eugenia aka Skeeter, as a nickname that her older brother Carloton gave to Her because of how she look like when she was born. Skeeter a 5ft 11in slim girl who grew up on a Cotton farm went to college with Ms. Hilly and was roommates and best friends until she got married in Collage. Who are know more aquaitace then friends. These 6 women are what the book focuses around. The whole setting of the story is Takes plalce in Mississippi in 1962. Back then people slavery Was still going on but not as bad black people were allowed to work and have homes. Even though They are a lot smaller and the neighborhoods are packed a lot more with homes and people there is a Lot more freedom then wat used to be. I think that this setting is perfect for the book because Mississippi can be one of the racist states in the US since where they are is part of the deep south. The whole book is about the different lives of how it is to be a black maid and work in Mississippi And how it is to be a white women in
