In 1937, J.R.R Tolkien wrote the book, “the Hobbit”. This book is now considered a masterpiece and is famous all over the world. So well regarded that in 2012, the director Peter Jackson decided to make three movies based on the book. When the movies came out, many people realized that the films were very different than their book counterparts. When the book first came out in 1937, it told the tail of a small creature in a far off land called middle earth. the creature was called a hobbit, and his name was Bilbo Baggen’s. Bilbo lived a quiet life in a small village called “Hobbitan”, he wanted nothing to do with excitement, he just wanted to stay home and drink tea. But then one day, a wizard shows up to his door, this wizard is named Gandalf. Gandalf comes with 13 dwarves by his side. They come to offer Bilbo a place by their side in an epic adventure featuring giant trolls, goblins, epic sword battles, and the final goal, which is to reclaim the dwarves home which was stolen from them by a giant dragon named Smaug. People were hoping he could wow the audience again with another great film series. The first Hobbit film released in December 2012 and it was good, although it was a bit too plotting, it was still a well put together film. However with his second Hobbit film which released the next year, he began deviating from the books and making to movies far too different from the book they were based on. He was adding characters which weren’t in the book, side stories that weren’t in the book, and even whole scenes which weren’t in the book. And while the overall storyline maintained the same throughout the movies, they were far off from their book
