During the Holocaust the jews were terrified. The play “ The Diary of Anne Frank” was inspired by “The Diary of A Young Girl.” The historical events in the Holocaust reflect in the play making the residents in “The Diary of Anne Frank” face many challenges in the attic.
One historical event of the Holocaust was to stop the Gestapo. All Dutch Jews were isolated from the rest of the Dutch population. Every resident were frightened of being captured. In the play Mrs Van Daan always worried everyone with her talk about the Gestapo. Everytime Mr. Frank was taken stuff from their house to the Annex, he would take the long route to avoid the gestapo.
