Over 1.5 million Jewish children were killed or killed at the hands of the Nazis (Holocaust Encyclopedia). The Holocaust was a very tragic event that led to the start of World War 2. It took place between 1938-1945 while Adolf Hitler and his group of Nazis were ruling Germany. Over the years, they were the reason for over 11 million total deaths, 6 million of them being Jewish. Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl who lived during the Holocaust, hid from the Nazis with her family for over two years until her capture. She kept a diary of everything that was happening, which is used in schools everywhere. She is very well known, even after she died during her time in a labor camp. For such a young girl, this would be the most traumatic thing someone can experience. She must’ve been so scared throughout this whole experience, unknowing if she would see any of her loved ones again, or even if she would survive. Anne continues to have a lasting impact on people all over the world. Her diary serves as a reminder of all the devastation of the Holocaust. In paragraph 8 of “Who was Anne Frank?”The author states “It [the diary] was published after the war, and is used in thousands of middle and high schools today. Anne’s Diary serves as a constant reminder of what the kids of the time were through. Since millions died, it's difficult to see them as different people with different lives and experiences. Anne's diary shows that each person in the Holocaust had been experiencing different things, and they all had a constant fear of the future, something that we are likely to never have to go through, and had to leave her mother and father, unknowing that would be the last time she saw either of
