Historians have been debating how the spirit triumphed during the Holocaust for years. The spirit triumphed through the Holocaust through many, many distractions, nature, and the support and love of family and friends. The Nazis had killed, and enslaved so many Jewish people in concentration camps. But, the Nazis couldn’t take their spirit from them.
This book took place during World War II Poland. In the book it does not really mention any dates that we could tie in with this time. There are several mentions however of signs of war for instance, “There were air raid sirens at night but for a few weeks nothing happened.”(pg. 26) This was before they were moved to the ghettos of Warsaw.
The Holocaust began many tragedies, many people dying and going through pain, being beaten and hung because they were jews. The Peace Resistance was to help many people get back to their old ways and connect back with their families if they had survived. Many jews were blamed for many things that were not true, they were treated the way there because non-jews believed Hitler and others who thought jews were not the perfect
Strong people work hard for their families to keep them alive as they run into many difficult conflicts. The Holocaust was a dark and scary period of time. Many people risked their lives for their family, friends, and country. Mostly everyone worked hard together to fight the terrible conflicts and struggles of the war. Documentations such as the book Night by Elie Wiesel and the story of the White Rose show us how brutaly a person can treat one another, and the exents powerful people can go to in order to hold their power.

(Bachrach 10) The first kidnapping spree of Jews started in Germany on January 30, 1933, which later spread to Austria, Poland, and eventually Czechoslovakia. (Altman 5) People in Germany were not very aware of what was happening until November 9, 1938, when over 30,000 Jews were killed and 190 synagogues were burned to the ground. The Holocaust was nothing short of mass genocide an entire culture just because they didn’t fit in with a government “vision”, which made them easy scapegoats for the Nazi Regime for problems that came to Germany after the First World War. So when the Holocaust started, many refuges evacuated Germany and parts of Europe for places such as Palestinian, which was once apart of their homeland. But when the new people there, the Arabians, would limit or even try and stop them from getting in, it created a heavy tension that has lasted to this day.
I believe that many Holocaust survivors felt like justice was not achieved because hatred still exists today and people have not really recognized the same impact that the Holocaust inflicted, among some other reasons. Sadly, jokes are made about the Holocaust and people do not take it seriously. The impact the Holocaust had on the world was extremely profound. It nearly wiped out an the entire population of a race. I believe the reason that people cannot understand the Holocaust's effect on the world is because we are simply told numbers.
The Holocaust In the late 1930’s Adolf Hitler had decided that the world would be better off if there were no Jewish people. All Jewish kids were kicked out of all Activities and school. The Gestapo Police were policemen that only followed Hitler 's orders, they were ordered by Hitler to imprison or kill all unwanted people, such as blacks, Polish, disabled, and homosexuals. The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy which started in January of 1933 and ended in May of 1945, the Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of people. The word was derived from the Greek word that meant Sacrifice to the Gods (Steele 7), also called the Shoan which is the Hebrew word for catastrophe (Steele 7). So many countries took place in this 12-year genocide, including, “Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, which were also known as the Axis Powers” (Steele 34). But, although there were all those countries they were all part of one larger group called the Nazis, were the ones who were killing all the different denominations of people. (Bachrach 58).
