The Holocaust, an event that many people does not want to happen again. The Holocaust was one of the worst events in the 20th century, many people died during it. There were many causes for the Holocaust, but the main cause were Anti-Semitism, which was a hatred of Jews. Along with causes, there were also many effects that happen after the Holocaust. There were not only affects that took place in Germany but around the world. Many Jewish survivors were sent to different countries, while those who were responsible for the Holocaust were punished.

The end of the Holocaust happened after the Germans surrender and when Hitler committed suicide. Those who were in involved in murdering of the Jews during the Holocaust had to face the consequences. “After two week after the German surrender, an agreement was reached by the Allies to conduct joint trials of those responsible for the murder of the noncombatants”(Berenbaum 200). There was a series of trials called the Nuremburg Trials; this is one of the cities in Germany that was not totally ruined. The Nazis committed a really bad crime, so they had to face severe punishments. There were many trials that took place over a long period of time. Most were sentenced to death and some were only imprisoned. But after a few years of having trials, the consequences became less cruel. But some Nazis did not get punished at all. Most Nazis Leaders responsible escaped from the trials (Berenbaum 202). Many leaders actually escaped, they got new identities and fled out of Germany. They did not want to be punished for what they did. Many of them received help from others in many countries that they ]fled to.
