The attack on the Twin Tower had taken the world by surprise. No one would ever imagine the attack would happen. The attack had taken thousands of lives and physically and mentally affect Americans. Furthermore, the bombing of the Twin Tower became a famous front page topic for newspaper and magazines all over the world. For example, an article in The New York Times, “Hijacked Jets Destroy Twin Towers and Hit Pentagon” by Serge Schmemann or an article from a Vietnamese newspaper, “Ký ức kinh hoàng về vụ khủng bố 11/9/2001,” written by Kim Ngan, which translates to “The Horror Memories of 9/11/2001.” Even though the newspapers have the same topic, the attack on September 11, 2001, but the way they portray it to the audience is different. The article, “Hijacked Jets Destroy Twin Towers and Hit Pentagon” by Serge Schmemann, was published on September 12, 2001, the day after the horrible attack. The purpose of the article is to let the readers remember what happened on 9/11 and the effects of the attack. Even though the article is from a different country, one could see that other countries really care about the incident. In the article, the author briefly talks about the attack and slowly change the topic to the effects and damages the incident caused. Even if the article is in Vietnamese, the intended audience for the article are Vietnamese and Vietnamese- Americans. The article is a reminder of what happened on 9/11 and the wound it caused.
