The Housemaid by Freida McFadden is a fiction thriller book about a journey with a woman named Millie. Millie had just come out of prison and was living in her car. After many searches for jobs, she finally found one with the Winchester family of housemaids. Millie was profoundly delighted with the welcoming of the family, especially Nina, Mrs. Winchester. She got her own room and basically a home that she just had to take care of. When Millie was introduced to her room, she was suspicious about the doorknob being only on the outside and not inside with a lock. She assumed it was nothing and that she should be grateful that it was better than living in her car. In her first couple of days staying with the Winchester family, she noticed a change with Mrs. Winchester. She wasn’t treating Millie the same and was bipolar. Like when Millie was told to give her daughter food with the ingredients she wanted, but switched up assuming that Millie wanted to harm her daughter. It was because Nina was having a hard time with no context behind it. Since the only person in the house that seemed to understand Millie was Mr. Winchester, Andrew, they started to grow a mutual bond with one another. Andrew was beginning to disagree with his wife on the harsh decisions that she had for Millie, which was putting conflict in their relationship. As friends, Andrew decided to bring Millie out to a musical theater since his wife canceled on him at the last minute. They had a great time and got to know each other on a deeper level when they went to have dinner. Andrew and Millie end up having an affair, which has Millie scared of what Nina will do when she finds
