What is the Human Experience?
The human experience can be defined in many different ways, by many different people. But my belief is that the human experience is when a person notices a problem, accesses the problem, and works towards fixing the problem. The biggest part of this experience is overcoming the problem. In the text, “The Most Dangerous Game” Rainsford is faced with many challenges throughout his stay on the hunter's island. The human experience can be different for everyone, whether it is life changing or just some small obstacle that requires problem-solving and effort, but every single one of these big or small things is part of the human experience. This semester in every single one of our text, plays, or stories there was some sort of human experience. As he comes ashore he crosses paths with General Zaroff, a bored hunter who wants a challenge. Rainsford is then forced into the wild so Zaroff can hunt him, and the odds are heavily against Rainsford. Therefore he organizes multiple traps and obstacles for Zaroff to, unfortunately, come across. But Zaroff was on guard and managed to escape the traps. Therefore Rainsford had to outsmart Zaroff, which he had done by escaping out of Zaroff's slight back to Zaroff’s mansion, were the two fought and Rainsford ended up incredibly comfortable. Even though it is unknown if he won or lost the game.
