In the book, The Hunger Games, one of the main events is when Katniss volunteers for her sister, Prim, to participate in the annual Hunger Games. After reading this event, I was very surprised. I noticed that Katniss surprised herself by saying she would volunteer, but then quickly recovered once she remembered that the reaping would be shown on television. “…this is upsetting me and I don’t want to cry. When they televise the replay of the reapings tonight, everyone will make note of my tears, and I’ll be marked as an easy target.
This puts Katniss in a devastated state in which she has hard times trying to remember what had happened on the day that had put her in shock and had Peeta captured by president snow, Katniss puts all the blame on herself which only worsens her condition. To help with herself she constantly says “My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am 17 years old. My home is district 12. I was in the hunger games.
Katniss Everdeen may be one of the most unlucky person in all of history. In the book The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is a book about a young girl and a boy who get called into the arena for a second time for the 75th Hunger Games (Quarter Quell). In the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss volunteered as tribute for her sister Prim. In the nest book President Snow, being the evil man he is, decided to have all of the previous winners of the Hunger Games back for the third Quarter Quell. In this Games all odds seem they are against Katniss, knowing that the main thing she has to do is keep Peeta alive.
Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have a mutualism symbolic relationship during the Hunger Games. Their association was the key cause of both their survival in the Games. Katniss pretends that she is in love with Peeta in order to please the sponsors to get gifts for both of them. At the end, this relationship results in their victory of the Hunger Games. Their interaction increases their chances of survival because it causes viewers to sympathize them as they are perceived to be“star-crossed lovers from District Twelve” (Collins 135).
The Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen is a dynamic 16 year old girl character in the novel The Hunger Games, out of 13 districts she lives in panem in district 12 with her mother and little sister. What makes katniss a dynamic character is her loving,caring, and brave characteristics throughout the book. katniss is a loving character who loves her family and others and did whatever it took to keep them well.katniss knew she was strong and would do better than everyone else from district 12.“I could be shot on the daily basis for hunting, but the appetites of those in charge protect me” (p.17)For the love Katniss have, she sacrifices her life for the ones she love.katniss doesn't forget the good things that happened in her life.:”kind people have a way of working their way inside me and rooting there”. (p.49)katniss take in good things and it stays inside her, like the time when peeta gave her some bread when she was hungry, she remembered that moment for years.
If you don’t watch then you will be punished. Katniss must deal with a romance between her and Peeta during the Hunger Game. Katniss has been providing for her family since her father’s death in a mining accident. She has been doing it illegally by hunting beyond the boundaries of District 12. As she was doing this she learns how to use a bow and arrow.
Essential to overcoming adversity is the ability to cause change in yourself and others. In the book, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen, has to learn to be strong and brave in a crisis. This helps her to survive the Hunger Games, because it gives her more faith especially when the price of losing her family is on the line. Ultimately, Collins shows that Bravery and strength leads to a successful person and can help one survive in something life changing.
Does being a fearless person mean you’ve never been scared in your life? Every person should have the feeling of being independent. In Suzanne Collins dystopian fiction book, The Hunger Games, the main character named Katniss Everdeen, shows many examples of how she went from being timid to being brave. Katniss Everdeen was struggling with her family and didn’t know what to do after her father passed away. Her mother fell into deep depression and Katniss was scared.
The Hunger Games gives us a heroine called Katniss Everdeen, she’s a strong-willed character and has an unwavering spirit. In the reaping in district 12 she volunteers for the game in order to spare her sister Primrose. Once she’s inside the Hunger Games arena she’s forced to kill to survive but there’s only problem, her friend Peeta Mellark gets cast into the games too. In the middle of the games, Katniss finds herself in a love triangle with her longtime friend back in district 12 Gale. This made her play a role of love for Peeta while his love for her was real, this then became all and act to survive for Katniss Everdeen.
Most stories revolve around the main character’s growth. The protagonist experiences hardship or conflict, realizes something about the himself or about the world, and changes, often for the better. In Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games, Katniss is trusted into a hostile environment, and is forced to confront everything she thought she knew. She comes to realize that her preconceived impressions of others are not always accurate. When Katniss recognizes the positive attributes in Peeta, Haymitch, and the Avox, she has genuinely evolved into a thoughtful adult.
Katniss and Peeta are two of the main characters in “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. They are both from District 12 which is one of the poor Districts. Katniss volunteers herself to replace her sister Prim. Peeta is chosen to be a tribute. From the start Peeta has a crush on Katniss but she is oblivious to this fact.
Before going to The Hunger Games Katniss was only worried about feeding her family and keeping her little sister safe. Now she trying to figure out her feelings towards her friend Gale and her fellow tribute
Twelve districts, twenty-four tributes, determined if you die alone, or survive in glory and remembering that suffering time, what would you choose? The Capital does not care about the districts, the Capitol wants us to die, and the Capitol should not own the people. Katniss Everdeen hates the Capitol for making District twelve suffering to survive. Peeta Mellark would do anything to show the Capitol that they don’t own people. The Capitol watches the games for entertainment and they love watching innocent children die.
