Title: The Hunger Games Author: Suzanne Collins Text type: Novel Date:1st march-4th march Name:Georgia Dyson This novel is about a Dystopian society called Panem, 24 teenagers aged 12 to 18 are chosen from the 12 districts to fight in an arena till there is only 1 alive. Teenagers struggle with this all through high school because everybody wants to fit in. “Even if i die i still want to be me.” Here Peeta realises when he is in the Capitol that the government are trying to take control of everyone but he wants to stay true to himself and not put up with their crap. This is the same with high school, we change our whole personality, our beliefs and our attitude about everything just to suit the popular people, it doesn't just affect our friends, it affects ourselves the most. I can relate this to myself because my first couple of years at high school I was trying to it in and ended up unhappy because I realised I had changed and wasn't my real self anymore.I believe that you are happier being yourself around your friends than you are not being yourself around ‘cool’
