Could you win the hunger games by staying true to yourself? I think it's possible because Katniss did just that! The main theme of this essay is that you can stay true to yourself. The book I'm comparing is “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. There are many reasons people should stay true to themselves and some of them help you in the long run. A good example of someone who stayed true to themselves is fox face. Fox face had been by herself the entire time during the games. She stayed by herself, so she could sneak around and do things her way no matter what. I believe that fox face could have won the games if she hadn’t eaten the berries that Peeta left for Katniss that just so happened to be night lock berries. Fox face was a really smart and clever girl that could have outsmarted all of them there by herself. “Well she is very clever Peeta. Well she was. Until you outfoxed her.’”-Katniss (pg.320.) She didn't actually partner with anyone until Rue had followed her and reminded her of Prim, and also partnered with Peeta when she heard that she could win with him, and she went off to find him. I feel that Katniss could have done better without any partners because she didn't have to talk to anyone and tell them a plan or have to worry about them turning their back on her and killing her in her sleep or sneaking up on her when she isn't paying attention. She only partnered with Rue because she reminded her of prim and felt like she needed to keep her safe.“But I told Rue I'd be there. For both of us.”-Katniss (242).
