Hunger Games- EQ #1- Do individuals or external forces have more power to impact change? In The Hunger Games the external forces have more power to impact change because in The Hunger Games the government is in power over everyone and if someone steps out of line or out of their place then they could be injured severely or even killed by the government. For example when the story went back to district 12 it says “Boom! Everyone gasps.” (Collins, 158). This was when someone did the hope symbol to give Katniss good luck so he is saying he hopes she wins and they were killed for stepping out of line and doing something that the government didn’t like, so in this case the government has the power because they killed one of the citizens. I know this because in the book it says “You can’t win, back down now or else” (Collins, 256). This shows that language influences the world because since the language that Katniss used was to get people to fight with her it affected her world since she got in a fight and had to kill someone, so that affected the world because now that district doesn’t like Katniss, so they will try to kill her. In The Hunger Games it says “No one ever gets outside the fence” (Collins, 16). This shows that they are trapped inside of their district and there is no escape because no one has ever made it outside of the walls, so this shows that the government is denying their rights because they won’t let anyone outside of the fence so it is almost like they are in jail for being
