In my eyes, showing love and compassion shows people that you are human. In The Hunger Games, the Capital dehumanizes the tributes so that people enjoy when tributes kill each other. But, one character has broken is “non-human” mindset the Capital has made for their show. I think Katniss Everdeen demonstrates humanity and compassion because she cares about their teammates, shows love towards Peeta, and Katniss is not cold-blooded, even though the Capital encourages it.
