My favorite author is Suzanne Collins they book she wrote was the Hungry Games and the Catching Fire and also Mocking jay. The first book is the Hunger Games it about District 12 and how each girl or boy volunteer tributes they have to fight a death on live television they have to survived and not die or be elimination. In the second book Catching Fire Katniss arrived home safely and then there is District 11 were Katniss and Peeta lie about them being together and fake that they both in love with each when they not in love at all. Katniss and Peeta always get trained when they getting ready to started a game and battle. “Ask any reader who has seen the movie version of a favorite novel, and the answer will usually be, "The book was better. " That 's because readers of a novel have already made their own perfect movie version” (Corliss et al., 2005). It would appear that Corliss is correct because many people who have read The Hunger Games book would say that it is better than the movie. Although the Hunger Games movie is entertaining, it is very different from the book.
In “A Worn Path”, by Eudora Welty, the story follows an old woman from the deep south in her attempt to help her grandson even though she faces many troubles along the way. A formerly enslaved woman, by the name of Phoenix, sets out to get medication for her sick grandson. During her travels through the forest, she is faced with a multitude of challenges. Her old age makes it difficult for her to climb up an incline, cross a log, and properly understand her surroundings. She is even knocked over by a large dog but is eventually helped by a young hunter.

I recommend the hunger games to children of twelve and up due to the violence described in the book. For a story about 24 teenagers who are killing each other, there is very little gore. Teens are stabbed, shot with arrows, mauled by wild animals, burned, and their heads and necks smashed or broken. The injuries are very realistic including burn blistering, blood poisoning and gangrene but not graphic. There is an alcoholic named Haymitch and if parents do not want to talk about this with their young children they should not allow them to read this book.

When a book has a film adaptation there are always changes made to make the film work. Sometimes the changes for the film can leave out important plot points and details. Oppression is perhaps the most common and prevalent dystopian theme as it serves as a warning against a highly probable dark future through shedding light on the dark side of contemporary trends such as advanced technology and reality TV-shows .The Capitol 's oppression operates on two levels; districts and individuals. The districts in general and districts 11 and 12 in particular have suffered great injustices at the ruthless hands of the Capitol ; however, there is no greater injustice than The Hunger Games themselves not only are the people of Panem forced to surrender their children as tributes for the Capitol 's citizens viewing pleasure for a crime they had no hand in committing ,but they are also forced to watch helplessly as their children are killed in the most brutal of manners .In Catching Fire (2009) , President Snow decrees that " the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors" in order to get rid of Katniss once and for all ,and to further assert the Capitol 's dominance and quell any thoughts of rebellion(172).
During summer while other kids were outside having fun, i was indoors with my AC on reading different kind of books because of a soccer injury i had. If it wasn 't for that injury i don 't think i would of ever gotten a book on my own. It all started with an injury to a book that became the book that kept me going to find more books to read. Books I think are powerful. Books contain so much more than just the story it 's a mindset, and by reading different books, I feel we can be alike in some ways but completely different from others. We will always have likes and dislikes, but once we start to read a book I think we can go in with an open mind set and when we finish, or if we don 't we have are own opinion. A different mindset from everybody else, and that 's extraordinary. That should say something to people and I don’t understand how some people don’t see
