America has gone through difficult times with war, but has gone through harder times with the war on terror. Terrorism is defined as the use of terror or threat. The war on terror became a big deal on December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor was bombed by hundreds of Japanese fighter planes, but has been a bigger deal since that attack on the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.. The bombing of the Twin Towers and to the Pentagon was like a Pearl Harbor but for the 21st century. Terrorist turn to violent means such as killing and bombing of the government.

No longer can you just get on a plane to visit your family or go on vacation or the simple business trip. The whole traveling thing has been a nightmare. The long wait that you have to be in line, the security you have to go through like the metal detectors, the patting down, the bag scanner, and the marshal that are on board with the passengers this entire thing that the security people do is for the safety of the traveler. This war has also had a huge impact on our economical funding. From the attack of 9/11 there has been an estimated the direct costs resulting from the 9/11 attacks at only $27.2 billion. That 's just for the attack, but for all the damages that were done to the town and the people was pegged at $3.3 trillion including the following: Toll and physical damage was $55 billion, economic impact was $123 billion, homeland security $589 billion, war funding $1,469 billion, and for the future wars and veterans care cost $867 billion, and $100 billion in reduced airlines and other traveling, "Don 't Hide From”. There have also been multiple bomb explosions in the U.S.A. and around the world. One of them was in the annual Boston Marathon that was held on April 15, 2013. The individuals Dzhokhar Tsarnaev of 19 years old of age and his brother 26 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev that made the bombs and placed them next to the finish line with went off a few seconds after each other and wounded more 260 people, "Boston Marathon Bombings". Other bombings that have happened and are happening are in Paris, France and in San Bernardino. But there is some good thing on the war on terror like the death of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan in April 20, 2011. On March 14, 2011 President Obama discussed the raid in his compound and killing or capturing him. On April 29, 2011 Obama gave the order to raid the compound in Pakistan.
