The organization that had a most positive impact on me to overcome those adversities is Seva Food Bank. The word seva means selfless service and for me doing something for no reward in mind is more motivating than be compensated for my actions. Growing up in a community where people do not have much persuaded me to help out and put myself in other people’s shoes. Since the food bank is in my community it displayed the poverty in Malton first hand. I took part in food drives to collect and gather amounts of food to give to less fortunate. Learning about other people’s experience made me for grateful for what I have. I had a family who supported me while other people had no one to rely on. I might have less money but I did have enough love to make up for it.

Each challenge leaves a lesson behind but the mark remains there forever. For me going to school with materialistic children was difficult because I had little money. The same toy the children got from their parents, I throw 300 newspapers to have. I was disappointed when I could not afford the toy. It was not just the toys, the opportunities I lacked due to my wealth kept me behind from excelling. I had to find opportunities instead of them coming to me because of amount of resources my parents had. The greatest challenge in my life was to get good grades because that was the one thing no one could take from me.
