The Impact On The Women's Rights Movement

Let's take a moment to think about all the women that had an impact on the Women Rights Movement. One of the biggest changes in the world was this movement for the women in the United States. All these women had one thing in common and that was wanting to have the same rights as men did. The Seneca Falls Convention was a major part in this movement because it was a big group of powerful women that all wanted the same thing. They focused on getting the same rights as boys and men. Women wanted to show men that they are strong enough to do the same things they did by being a part of religious movements, moral-reform societies, anti-slavery organizations—and many other groups. Women played a powerful role in many different movements, they are the main reason that these groups were so strong.

These powerful women had protested for nearly 3 years before getting their rights on August 26, 1920. July 19-20, 1848 was the first time women actually met up to talk about the rights that they had, so that was the first ever women's right convention. On October 16, 1916 Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the United States. At this point they are starting to get some more freedom but not all the freedom that they want to have. …show more content…

It states “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." That quote made a huge impact on what men thought about women! Women took that as a boost to get to their goal of freedom! On April 2, 1917 Jeannette Rankin first woman elected into congress as a member to the house of Representatives. Jeannette Rankin the FIRST WOMAN elected into congress is a major turning point in the women's movement and it could be one of the last turning points in the movement.
