In the 1920’s, the automobile was one of the most brilliant and most important of creations. It was invented by a man in his 20’s named Karl Benz that lived in Germany(Karl Benz). He went to school at the University of Karlsruhe. He was the first person to build a powered by a gas engine. The automobiles impacted the world by changing the daily activity such as going to the places, getting to a job on time, and even transporting goods or material(Nielsen 7). The automobile during this time period was for the rich people because back then people could not afford the prices of the cars. In the 1920’s , people designed other automobiles that impacted people in their everyday lives. Henry Ford designed one of the most popular automobiles that impacted the world in the 1920s. Ford was born on July 30, 1863, on the Ford family's farm near Dearborn, Michigan(Watt). He was young bright and curious person that likes working with mechanical things. People had more leisure time to spend time with their family and friends. One activity created by the invention and perfection of the automobile was racing. People would go to see Grand Prix, one of the most popular races in the 1920’s(Nielsen 8). The race took place in France. After that first race the Grand Prix started to travel around the world and was the biggest attractions for families. Another one is a Sunday afternoon drive, the family would just get in the car after church and go on a long drive while laughing and singing and having fun with the family. Many tasks were made lighter and simpler with this new technology. The automobile industry created jobs, thereby increasing the amount of money people had to spend.
