Many would assume that college is a waste of time and rush to work the moment they receive their high school diploma. Little did they know, college education is the master key that would allow them access to many different doors, in which contain different pathways and interests that they have yet to discover, different skills and talent that they have yet to realize, or utilize. Unlike high school lessons which are standardized for all levels, college lectures are more challenging and go more in-depth. It is the purpose of college education to allow students to maximize their capabilities and understanding in the field they wish to pursue. Coming from a poor country like Vietnam, education is the most valuable opportunity a child can get. There are kids who would walk miles, cross rivers, tolerate rain, flood and heat just to be in a small class. Therefore, I deem education, in general, as a …show more content…

Students can obtain connections with an instructor, an alumnus, a friend, a club or a guest speaker for a certain workshop or program. This can give them great job opportunities right after or even before graduation. They can start working to pay back their loans and continue their studying or start working under better environment and conditions. Internships are available for undergraduates mostly from junior and senior levels; however, there are situations when freshmen and sophomores would be accepted as long as they are qualified. These would build up a great résumé and impressions for job interviews.
In conclusion, if being utilized carefully, college is not a waste of time. It does not hold the answer to anyone’s future or happiness; however it is the key that would lead to those. Some would toss it away or ignore it; don’t be them! Pick up the key and try to unlock as many door as you can and choose one you want to go with for the rest of your
